Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Tuesday on a positive trend, but could not maintain its strength during the day, closing at 9,069.03, down 0.69%. While the Banking Index diverged positively, up 1.93%, the Industrial Index lost 1.32%. The Banking Index is trying to recover its losses after a few weeks of sharp decline, but profit-taking is observed across the BIST. Election uncertainty, additional tightening expectations, growth concerns, questions over inflation accounting, and deposit interest becoming attractive again increase the downside risks for the BIST in the short term. However, we maintain our expectation that future positive macro data will positively affect the market as rational policies continue to be implemented in the medium term. As such, sharp pullbacks should be considered as buying opportunities. In global markets, risk appetite strengthened despite the U.S. CPI announced at 3.2% yesterday, above the 3.1% expectation, and major stock markets closed with rises of up to 1.5%. This morning, the U.S. futures and German DAX futures continue their positive course, while Asian Stock Markets are mixed. Today, global markets will follow Euro Zone industrial production data. Domestically, the VIOP30 Index ended the evening session up 0.18%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday with a limited positive trend and seek to continue its rise if it meets any intraday profit-taking. RESISTANCE: 9,250 - 9,400.
