Market Watch (Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST100 Index started Wednesday on a positive trend. The Benchmark Index then followed a fluctuating intraday course to close at 5,360.77, down 1.26% amid rising sales in the afternoon. While the Banking Index diverged positively, up 1.97%, the Industrial Index declined 2.09%. We expect a continuation of the uptrend that began after the election, although we consider it normal to witness periodic profit taking. Expectations that monetary and fiscal policies will normalize with the change in economic management continue to support Borsa İstanbul. We expect the announcements to be made and the steps to be taken in the coming period to guide the markets in the medium-long term. Yesterday, the Fed acted in line with expectations by keeping interest rates stable for the first time after 10 meetings. However, in his statements, President Powell indicated that there may be new rate hikes according to the data to come until the end of the year. While the U.S. and European Stock Markets ended the day with gains yesterday, Asian Stock Markets have followed a buying course this morning. German DAX futures have seen a slightly negative trend and the U.S. futures a mixed one. The European Central Bank meeting will be followed today. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session up 0.33%. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start the day with a positive trend. Selling pressure will continue as possible reactionary purchases present selling opportunities. SUPPORT: 5,314 - 5,198 RESISTANCE: 5,440- 5,543.
