Mornıng Report (Trive Yatırım Menkul Değerler )

All Eyes This Week on MPC Meeting
The BIST managed to carry on the positive momentum over from Thursday’s trading to end the week on a
positive note by rising 0.93% to 7853, but still well under the TRY 100k turnover level at TRY 78.6bn, with the
Aviation and Service stocks lifting the benchmark higher.
THYAO-TCELL-and PGSUS were the most bought, whereas KCHOL-HEKTS and ARCLK shares were the most sold
blue-chips.
For the week, the BIST close 1.06% higher, thanks to the sharp drop in the 5r CDS rates, as well as the slight fall in
the interest rates, and the falling fuel prices helped lift the Aviation stocks higher as well. Thus, the
Transportation stocks were last week’s best performing stocks, closing a little over 9% higher, as well as the
Service, Mining and Banking stocks-due to the fall in the CDS rates. The lower-than expected global inflation
rates also helped ease nerves regarding potential future rate hikes.
Last week, the TRY weakened slightly against the USD by 0.42%, but by nearly 2.50% against the Euro, and on the
Bonds’ front, the 2yr and 10yr rates fell by 2.61% and 1.85%, respectively.
On the Commodity front, whereas Brent fell by 1.21% due to signs of weak demand as indicated by rising crude
inventory stockpiles, ounce and gram GOLD prices were positively affected by the low inflation readings.
Türkiye 12month Inflation Figure for the next 12months fell to 43.94% in the CB Survey from 45.28%, and to
25.09% from 25.82% for the next 24months. Nov YE Inflation Estimate was 67.23%, down from 68.01%, and the
USD/TRY parity stood at 30.
Today, the TRY will start the week at 28.70 against the USD and at 31.36 against the Euro, while the DXY is
currently trading at 103.63. The 5yr CDS rates will also kick-off the new week from the 347.51 level.
On the commodity front, Brent is trading higher at $81.18, and ounce and gram GOLD prices are at $1981 and
TRY 1828, respectively.
Today, President Erdogan will chair the Cabinet Meeting.
