Market Watch(Şeker Yatırım)

The BIST-100 Index started Tuesday on a positive trend, thereafter following a fluctuating intraday course. Continuing its rise and testing a new historical peak pf 4,686, the Index closed the day at 4,657, up 1.90%. The Banking Index diverged positively, up 6.28%. With the expectation that the Fed would slow down the rate of interest rate hikes after the U.S. PPI inflation data printed below expectations, the strengthening trend in global risk appetite continued, and major global stock markets closed the day with gains. Despite the strong short-term rise in the U.S. Stock Markets, the VIX Index still hovers above 24. The VIX Index points out a high risk of profit sales in the U.S. Stock Markets after the rapid rise, unless it falls below 21. The BIST continues its rise by testing new historical peaks with the support of strong balance sheet statements and rising global risk appetite. Regardless of any intraday profit-taking, the decreases continue to invite buying. The uptrend therefore seems set to continue with interim corrections until the next results season, as strong balance sheet disclosures and profitability expectations remain in play. What's more, the BIST is currently seen as the only alternative among TRY-based assets in a high inflation environment. After the strong balance sheet announcements, the upward revision of share target values supports the rise, too. The risk of strong short-term profit sales has risen due to the bold short-term Index rise and its scaling of historical peaks. As there is no short-term expectation to replace the results season, the Index rise may well lose momentum to profit-taking, albeit to a limited degree. Indeed, decreases will only present a buying opportunity helping the Index continue its uptrend and testing of new peaks in the medium term. The VIOP-30 Index closed the evening session down 0.26%. Relative to the BIST close, the U.S. and German DAX futures were negative at between 0.5% and 1.1%. There has been a negative-weighted trend among Asian Stock Markets. Locally, we expect the Benchmark Index to start Wednesday close to flat. We expect the Benchmark Index to continue its uptrend, while rapid low-volume rises may be read as profit-taking opportunities. SUPPORT: 4,595 - 4,498 RESISTANCE: 4,686 - 4,742.
